new school *b movies

i could be totally wrong about this but i feel like since tarantino and rodriguez came out with their grindhouse double whammy, more entertainment industry people have been more open to putting in work into something that's obviously campy, corny, and low budget just for the fun of it. i loved planet terror and death proof, and every awkward cut and bits of exploitation that were nods to the oldschool felt like inside jokes to me. i was just crackin up the whole time but these movies were not low budget. which takes us back here. since theres an obvious audience who enjoys their movie experience as one where they laugh at the movie(because things are bad), it doesn't take a genius to make a bad movie with a low budget. here are trailers for my two new recent favorites: zombie strippers [2008][starring jenna jameson (the pornstar) and robert englund (freddy kruger!!!)] and mega shark vs. giant octopus [2009][starring lorenzo lamas (hahahaha)].

arch druids @ the breaks

so i went to the breaks today to support my blunt boogie records homies. i sneaked in for free so that was good. i sneaked into the v.i.p. section and that was better! i wasn't gonna pay 30 dollars for some hiphop festival at east l.a. city college!

for half of the time i was sorta sketched cause i didn't have a bracelet and i walked around with my hands in my pockets or had my arms crossed, so i wasn't taking that many pictures. i really just watched 2 acts, killah priest from wutang, which was tight, and my homies the arch druids bbr, which was tight too, and really fun. i think this was the biggest show that they've done.

i watched a little bit of keith murray, but a lot of us were hungry and two homegirls were super excited to go to 'the hat', a san gabriel pastrami joint, which is across the street. so we went there and some of our friends who were still in there said that it was getting shut down, security guards aren't getting paid and are leaving-- the cops are coming--psycho realm shows always end in a riot. soooo, i watched a little bit of psycho realm from the outside after eating at the hat, while watching the khaki and brown sheriffs department start putting on helmets and pulling out their clubs. then it was time for me to say "peace the fuck out!"

church rave

this video is made of some gospel hoe-down clips re dubbed with some drum and bass. works sooooo well! i'm not even laughing at it. i just think its fucking tight. all the shuffles, shimmies, shakin, and jumping goes perfect with the music. its all the same tempo, and its all the same dancing spirit. recognize!

slinkachu

here is some real micro miniature street art by way of london. i like it. i think i've been seeing a lot of mini things lately or talking about mini things. just last saturday i went to a house warming party that had a rock garden and placed throughout the stones were little plastic dinosaurs, i really liked that. and today me and one of my best buds were talking about bonsai plants and just trying to create miniature worlds in general. enjoy these! more slinkachu @ http://slinkachu.com/

miniature sumo wrestling :: tilt shift style

yay, here's something fun and artsy you can do if you have photoshop... and pictures of things taken from higher places. tilt shift lens trickery plays with large apertures and yayayayaya to make some funky depth of field shots thus resulting in miniaturized scenery. but wait! you don't need no fancy pants camera! you just need to follow these steps in this sweet photoshop tutorial (the best tutorial i've found). www.tiltshiftphotography.net/photoshop-tutorial.php. ayaaaaaaaaand here below is a super sweet sumo video that was done in tilt shift and sped up for that optimal miniaturized lookie loo<<<

pedobear

ahhh, pedobear cracks me the fuck up. am i a bad person for enjoying pedobear the pedophile bear? maybe... now, time for some pedobear!

pedobear is an internet meme that originated in image forums and is used to make light of and or create pedo-esque material. why? cause interwebz trolls are twisted peoples.

star wars trilogy: retold, by someone who hasn't seen it

deng, 3 movie posts inna row huh??? i like this video, its a re-telling of the original star wars trilogy from a girl that hasn't actually seen all the movies in their entirety. her version is all whacked out and is accompanied by well edited animation. i thought the whole project was "funny" and "cute."

TED sixth sense technology

oh shit! something educational. i saw this video about two months ago and i remembered that there's still not that many people that have seen this or know about this. things like this intrigue me very much and keep me optimistic about future technologies. being able to easily or more 'naturally' access 'meta-data' is what the main function of the ultra wizardry gadget is. i'm not gonna type my ass of about how tight this all is. minority report status is here!!! happy? scary?

tone matrix

this thing is really fun. http://lab.andre-michelle.com/tonematrix
its a sinewave synthesizer triggered by a 16step sequencer. each triggered step creates a 'light echo' like throwing pebbles in a pond. its fun to look at, easy and straight forward enough to make very layered syncopated beats. try copying my pattern if you wanna hear what i made but im sure you'll have plenty fun on your own.

eli on the mic

my favorite worst rap battle ever. actually, THE worst rap battle ever. fuck, this kid Eli looks like he's having a slow motion seizure. his eyes were rolling in the back of his head. fuck. i feel bad now, but then i watch it and laugh and feel good again. its the circle of life.

bacon and bacon

i saw these things @ baconbaconbacon.tumbler.com

i really really like the idea of bacon infused waffles. i enjoy waffles with outsyrup and i have my own waffle burger creation too, so having waffles as your bready material is already synchronized in my brain space. having bacon cooked into the waffles is awesome. me making a waffle burger with said baconized waffles would be fucking awesome.

i think this scarf is pretty sweet. i might just even hang it in my room like a flag. usually im not so into fashion that tries to look like de-skinned muscles and tries to be all realistic. i like this knit fashion, and i like knit designs in general cause they're all pixelated. sometimes things become pixelated when you're going through other dimensions. this is a piece of bacon making its way into the scarf dimension.

prodigy @ the palladium

Photobucket
first big shout out to uncle charlie @ the internationalist for getting me in freezoh

just came backer from the prodigy show @ the palladium in hollywood tonight. opening act was glitch mob. they were okay. i felt like it was too slow tempo for me, even though it was probably around 80 to 90 bpm, it wasn't so dancy for me. i'd rather gangster boogie to some hip hop, not slow motion jump up and down. >>> Prodigy played a fat show, live drummer and guitarist and i'm sure there was more, it was easier to have fun watching liam and maxim jump back and forth. they did all the hits, but what i didn't expect was a short dubstep remix they did of firestarter when the original ended. that was nice! it seemed like it ended early but thats ok. they ended with the song "out-of-space," chill reggae tempo with that classic Max Romeo sample with everyone singing a long.

there were lots of characters. well, they seemed like characters when seeing them in real life. they just look whatever in low light pictures, my video footage came out pretty sucky too with totally blown out audio volume, BUT!!!!! what i do have are some pretty sweet animated .gif files of my burst photos that i did while hopping around. they might load slow but i think they're nice so peep em!

p.s. this was my first time to the palladium and since its freshly remodeled and open, i'll tell you its a super nice venue with a bomb sound system that is very clear. capacity wise, its between a mega club and an arena. its like a large rave tent with the crisp sound of being indoors. i highly recommend it.

all dogs go to heaven

Photobucket
you know what? i had this movie when i was i kid and when i think about it, it was pretty dark. i remember it started off in some sort of gamble house clip joint where dogs were getting all kinds of crazy. i guess i really liked that movie for how much action there was in it. its a gangster movie, and they kill the main character charlie, theres visions of heaven and hell the whole shebang, you probably vaguely remember it like me. i also remember almost all of my lady friends were really upset by that movie when they were younger, especially my ex girlfriend. she would be on the verge of tears if i ever brought that movie up. sometimes i would do it just to be an asshole.

mick jagger = bumbaclot.

before mick jagger became the decrepit old money grubbing dinosaur he is today, dude knew how to party with the best, in this case reggae/smoke master peter tosh. by the look of it the ganja might have gotten the best of him. jah liv.

whole chicken inna can

i was at this practical joke blog and in the upper right hand corner, it had this small button that said something to the effect of, 'click here for most awesome office gift.' and it led me to http://www.amazon.com/SWEET-SUE-WHOLE-CHICKEN-CAN/dp/B0002QEYYK. i was like, 'what the fuck?' 50 dollars for a big ass can with a chicken in it? i had to research more so i googled around and found a blog where a mom documents her humorous preparation of the said canned chicken.

here's the rest of the story at her blog. http://ihatemymessageboard.com/2009/04/23/a-whole-chicken-in-a-can

if you know bugs, what the fuck is that?

i'm sorry, Mr. Chi-City is too fuckin funny. in this video, Mr. Chi-City tackles stressful life in the suburbs by having to deal with wildlife he is not accustomed too. what he describes as a "roach/spider/praying mantis" thingy has infiltrated his house even though its 2 degrees outside and he decides to fuck it up with his crutch. enjoy his 'war cry' (girlie scream)

cho no yume

is yo moms legs broken motha fucka???

Mr. Chi-City explains his parking ticket and how he's gonna fight it. i know the video is kinda long, but i think the video is pretty well done. i kinda wanna make videos now too.

jozin z bazin

this is for my euro friends, but its also for non euro friends. this has english subtitles and its worth watching for the dancing bearded neck-less man in a suit that drops in for the hook of the song<<<

Jozin z bazin (Joseph from the bog) is a Czech song from the 70s by Ivan Mládek. The song is a surreal tale of a mysterious man-eating monster living in the swamps, who could be defeated only with use of a cropduster.
