one time i played some hip hop inspired jazz for my boss and he called it electronic music. i asked him why he categorized it as that and he said something like, "its chopped up jazz samples re-arranged on an electronic instrument." and then i was like "oh ya? what about electric guitars and rock'n'roll?"

i also have this one friend that calls pretty much every kind of electronic music "techno." then i told him, "well then rock'n'roll is techno cause they use electronic instruments." and then his head twisted and he said, "but it's not the same." and i said "i'm just fucking with you man."
